The Province has announced that licensed child cares can now reopen.

We are working with our licensed child care Operators to ensure they can open safely over the next few weeks.  Please watch for communication from your licensed child care Provider about when they are opening and the changes they have implemented for a safe return for your child(ren) and their staff.

All EarlyON Child & Family Centre Programs remain closed.

Applications are closed for emergency child care centres

With the announcement that all licensed child care operators may open again we have closed our application process for our emergency child cares. Please contact your regular child care provider to determine the timing of their reopening. If you do not have a regular child care provider you can find a list of licensed child care providers in Lanark County in the ‘2019 Licensed Childcare Available’ link on the right hand side of this page.

During this COVID-19 outbreak Lanark County and the Province of Ontario recognizes health care and other essential front line workers must continue to go to work.
In order to support them with the care of their children, Lanark County Children’s Services is providing the provision of licensed child care, free of charge for residents of Lanark County as well as those that work in Lanark County.

While we recognize the safest place for children is at home we also recognize that this is not an option for some essential service workers. The approved child care providers are required to follow existing health and safety requirements and have a plan in place should any staff, children or parents be exposed to the virus.

Lanark County is working with our local Medical Officer of Health and approved child care operators to ensure that additional precautionary safety measures are put in place.

Workers supported through this initiative can be found on the Provincial list of professions supported for Emergency Child Care **

**Please note that professions supported through this program are set by the Province but are not the same as the Essential Work Place list released by the Provincial Government.
