The Lanark County Land Ambulance Service maintains acceptable emergency response times in accordance with the provincial Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care benchmarks. The Almonte General Hospital provides the service 24 hours a day. It operates base stations in Perth, Smiths Falls, Carleton Place and Almonte with nine ambulance vehicles and one emergency response vehicle. A vehicle replacement program exists to renew the fleet in a planned and cost-effective manner to ensure vehicles are in excellent condition to respond to an emergency.
