YOU ARE INVITED TO... FRIENDS OF PERTH FARMERS' MARKET - KICK OFF PARTY
This winter a group of people who care about eating locally met monthly to focus on the support and promotion of local foods in Lanark County. One initiative that has come from these discussions is a group we're calling The Friends of the Perth Farmers' Market.
The purpose of this group will be to provide support to and promotion of the farmers' market and the farmers who come to the market to sell their locally grown products. Primarily the purpose of the membership is to provide a way for people who care about having access to quality, locally grown, foods and to formally support our local growers.
The group is a volunteer run initiative and a nominal membership fee of $10/person which will be used to fund promotional activities on behalf of the market. Activities such as advertising, maintenance of the market's website and the creation of a seasonal newsletter and on-site ordering program, that will be available to all members, keeping you abreast of what's fresh at the market each week.
To get this group started we're having a kick-off party at the Factory Grind Coffee Shop (1 Sherbrooke St. E., Perth) on Monday April 21, 2008 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Come out and meet the market vendors, listen to some good music, sign up for membership, share a cup of coffee/tea and hear what's coming up for this market year.
